Naseem Shah is really a special talent. The 16-year old bowling prodigy from Pakistan looks set to extend his country’s tradition of producing great fast-bowlers as he picked up a sensational hat-trick against Bangladesh in the ongoing first Test in Rawalpindi. In the process, he also became the youngest bowler to take a hat-trick.
The right-arm pacer took three wickets of three consecutive deliveries in the 41st over to leave Pakistan on the verge of a win. His first victim was Najmul Hossain Shanto. Naseem Shah trapped Shanto in front of the stumps and although it looked close, the umpire gave his decision in the favour of the batsman.

However, Pakistan reviewed the decision and the replays showed that Shanto was out. On the following delivery, he accounted for Taijul Islam with a stunning delivery to trap him lbw. On the hat-trick delivery, the highly-rated pacer got rid of senior batsman Mahmudullah who played a forgettable shot to return to the pavilion.
Naseem Shah finished the day with figures of 4 for 26 and was Pakistan’s most successful bowler. Leg-spinner Yasir Shah picked up two wickets as Bangladesh finished on a precarious 126 for 6, still needing 86 runs to avoid an innings defeat. The visitors were all out for just 233 in the first innings. In reply, Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 445 with Babar Azam and Shan Masood scoring centuries.
In the ongoing innings, captain Mominul Haque is holding firm from one end. At the end of the day he was unbeaten on 37 while giving him company was wicketkeeper Liton Das. Shanto was the top run-scorer for the day for Bangladesh, scoring 38 while senior opener Tamim Iqbal scored 34.
