India star Rohit Sharma, on Wednesday, came up with yet another monumental knock in ODIs as the Men in Blue thrashed West Indies in the second ODI. India thrashed the visitors by 107 runs in the do-or-die game to draw level in the three-match series. Rohit Sharma, who is the only player to hit three double centuries in ODIs, starred with the bat, scoring 159.

He and his fellow opener KL Rahul both scored centuries as India posted a mammoth total of 387 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs. Rohit Sharma and Rahul added a mammoth partnership of 227 runs to lay the platform for the big total. Skipper Virat Kohli departed for a duck but Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant made sure that India finish on a strong note.

Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, missed a big chance to score yet another double ton. He was out in the 44th over and had ample time in his hands to touch the 200-run mark once again. Rohit started his knock on a slower note as he reached his fifty off 67 balls. However, he soon changed gears and scored his second fifty off just 40 balls while the third took only 25.

A beautiful sight was witnessed when Sheldon Cottrell dismissed Rohit Sharma in the 44th over. As soon as Rohit Sharma edged the ball to the wicketkeeper behind the stumps, Cottrell came up with his usual salute send-off. But the West Indies pacer was soon seen applauding the knock from the India vice-captain.

Cottrell clapped for Rohit and gave a pat on his back as the India opener walked off the field. Jason Holder was also seen congratulating Rohit.
