The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) might not have been full house at present due to the current scenario but it has definitely provided a fitting scene for one Indian fan to create a lifelong memory for himself.
The Indian fan not only became one of the lucky ones to watch a game from the stands during the pandemic but also used the opportunity to the fullest by proposing to his girlfriend as millions watched it on their television sets. For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, spectators are being allowed into the stadium for international series in Australia.
Cricket Australia has announced that 50 per cent of the total capacity of the crowd will be allowed to enter the SCG for the first two games. The Indian fan, nonetheless, used the opportunity of attending the game by getting down on one knee and popping the question to his Australian partner.
As the other spectators cheered him on, the lady said yes, leading to brilliant scenes. It was followed by a warm hug and a kiss between the lovebirds. Australia star Glenn Maxwell was also seen clapping in delight after watching the beautiful moment.
Here is a clip of the proposal:
