The way Rohit Sharma was batting in the ongoing clash against Kings XI Punjab, it needed something special from the opposition to get rid of him and Glenn Maxwell and Jimmy Neesham did exactly that. The Kings XI Punjab duo came up with a stunning effort together to send back the Mumbai Indians skipper.

Before his dismissal, Rohit Sharma scored 70 off 45 balls. The captain needed to deliver in the crunch clash after his team made a shaky start. Just like Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians also came into this game after losing two of their first three games.

Asked to bat first, the reigning IPL champions started on a poor note as Quinton de Kock departed for a duck in the very first over. Even before Mumbai could recover, Suryakumar Yadav was run-out for 10 to leave his side reeling at 21 for 2. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan then shared 64 runs for the third wicket before the latter departed.

And while wickets were falling at regular intervals from the other end, Rohit Sharma was holding firm from him. But just when he would have liked to go for the big shots, the stunning effort from Maxwell and Neesham ended his knock.

On the first ball of the seventeenth over bowled by Mohammed Shami, the right-handed batsman lofted his shot towards long-off. The ball was looking set to sail over the boundary ropes before Maxwell came running from the left and caught it.  The momentum was taking him over the ropes but before landing his feet outside the field of play, he threw the ball inside the field which was caught by Neesham.

Here is a clip of the stunning catch from Neesham and Maxwell:
