Sheldon Cottrell has not taken long to bury the ghost of his previous outing by dismissing Quinton de Kock with a stunning delivery in the ongoing clash between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah.

The left-arm pacer had a forgettable outing in the previous game against Rajasthan Royals. He was smashed for five sixes in an over by Rahul Tewatia which turned the game in Royals’ favour when they needed 51 runs from 18 balls while chasing an improbable total of 223.

The Royals had gone on to win the clash with three balls remaining. Well, it did not take Sheldon Cottrell long to make amends for his horror show in the previous game. The West Indies star gave Kings XI Punjab a solid start against the defending champions by dismissing the dangerous Quinton de Kock in the very first over.

The South Africa star was yet to open his account after facing four balls when Sheldon Cottrell bowled the beauty. The left-handed batsman was completely beaten and could only see the ball destroy the stumps. De Kock was beaten by the outswing and it was enough for Sheldon Cottrell to bring out his trademark salute celebration.

Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, have made a shaky start after being asked to bat first.  After de Kock’s departure, Suryakumar Yadav departed cheaply too when he was run out for just 10. At the time of compiling the report, the reigning IPL champions were at 49 for 2 in the 8th over with captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the middle.

Here is a clip of that dismissal:
