Star New Zealand opener Martin Guptill and Indian medium pacer Deepak Chahar were involved in a mini banter in the first T20 International match of the three-match T20 Internationals series on Wednesday, November 17 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Experienced Kiwi campaigner Martin Guptill performed brilliantly in the T20I opener against India. On the contrary pacer, Deepak Chahar didn’t look in a good rhythm.

Meanwhile, Guptill who was looking dangerous in the middle smashed a wonderful no-look 98 metre six to Deepak Chahar in the first ball of 18th over. Guptill didn’t even look at the ball which went for a maximum instead he was staring at Chahar and the bowler didn’t even dare to give him a stare and went for the second delivery.
In the second ball Guptill once again tried to smash it for a six but was caught by Shreyas Iyer at deep mid-wicket. Now it was Chahar’s turn to give Guptill a stare and the opener put his head down and started walking back to the dugout after scoring 70 runs off 42 deliveries including 4 sixers and 3 fours.
Although Deepak had the last laugh or Stare overall he didn’t perform very well in the match as he gave away 42 runs in his 4 overs quota.
