Ravichandran Ashwin never shies away from experimenting on the cricket field. Not very long ago when his off-spins were not making much impact, he started bowling leg-spinners. Well, variation is the need of the hour for every bowler in modern game. The game is now slightly titled in the batsmen’s favour and the bowlers do need to keep some variations in their armour to do well.
But Ravichandran Ashwin came up with arguably the most bizarre piece of variation on Friday during the game between Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Super Gillies in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) . Ashwin was leading Dindigul Dragons and came out to bowl the final over of the match when the Super Gillies needed 21 runs from the final over.

On the fifth ball of the over, Ravichandran Ashwin came up with an action which is as bizarre as one can think of. The off-spinner came in running and bowled the delivery without using his front arm while being wrong footed. But the delivery did not yield the desired result and went for a wide.
Here is that bizarre delivery from Ashwin:

Talking about the match, Ashwin had a fine outing with both bat and ball. With the bat, he came out at number three and slammed 37 from just 19 balls. With the ball, he conceded only 24 runs from his four overs as the Dragons beat the Super Gullies by 10 runs while defending a modest total of 115.
Ashwin recently had a stunning outing in county cricket. He will be soon seen in action when India travel to West Indies for a full-fledged series. Ashwin is unlikely to get a chance in the ODIs and T20Is but is likely to lead the spin attack in Tests.
