Virat Kohli & Co. will be eyeing a solid start to the home Test season when they take on South Africa in the first Test. India have made a solid start to their campaign in the ICC Test Championship. They blanked West Indies in the two-match series to collect the maximum 120 points and are sitting at the top of the table.

South Africa, on the other hand, have not played any Test or ODI since the conclusion of the World Cup. In their last Test series, they had suffered a shocking 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka at home. The Proteas will definitely start the game as firm underdogs. However, India should guard against complacency.

By beating the hosts in the third T20I convincingly, the visitors have shown they are well capable of beating the hosts on their day. Moreover, South Africa have several players who have the potential to change the game on their own. The likes of Faf du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock and others do have the potential to cause trouble for Team India.

Thus India should be looking to guard against complacency. Only time will tell how both the teams start the series. But ahead of the series, India captain Virat Kohli showed he is in a very happy frame on mind. On the eve of the first Test in Vizag, Virat Kohli started his press-conference in a hilarious manner.

Upon seeing the room full of journalists, Virat Kohli took a hilarious dig at them by saying: “Nobody (from the media) attends the press-conference for the T20s. Everyone’s just chilling”. His comments left the journalists in split before they started asking questions to the Indian star.

Here is a clip of that incident:
