Memories came rushing as Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar showed their class with the bat once again during the opening game of Road Safety World Series between India Legends and West Indies Legends. The spectators in the iconic Wankhede Stadium shouted their heart out as Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar came out to open.

The iconic duo opened the batting at the Wankhede Stadium for the first time since the 2011 World Cup final on April 2 when India defeated Sri Lanka to lift the trophy after a long gap of 28 years. And as if the sight of Sachin and Virender Sehwag coming out to bat together was not enough, the latter made the fans more nostalgic by hitting the first ball he faced for a boundary. In fact, the former India opener  smashed 2 successive boundaries to give his side a brisk start in pursuit of 151.

By the time the powerplay ended, India Legends had raced away to 59 for no loss. Sachin and Virender Sehwag gave the home side a solid start by sharing 83 runs for the first wicket before Benn dismissed the former for 36. India Legends went on to win the game by seven wickets.
