With no action going around at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic, India cricket stars Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah decided to go live on Instagram. And one can say that the live session was really interesting and the fans thoroughly enjoyed it.
During the session, both the cricketers talked about themselves, their teammates as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL). The thirteenth edition of the league was set to get underway on March 29. However, the BCCI had to suspend it till April 15 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. The IPL is unlikely to start any time soon.
During the live conversation, Rohit Sharma was also irked by some fans who constantly asked him and Jasprit Bumrah to speak in English. Irritated by those messages, Rohit Sharma clearly stated:
“They are saying speak in English, ‘no we are Indians we will be speaking in Hindi only’.”
Jasprit Bumrah rallied behind his Mumbai Indians skipper and said the fans suggest to speak in Hindi when you speak in English and vice-versa. With cricket action currently suspended all over the world, cricketers have been very active on social media.
Rohit Sharma had earlier interacted with Yuzvendra Chahal and former England batsman Kevin Pietersen. In his latest chat, he also invited wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant for an interview on Wednesday.
Recently, the India ODI and T20I vice-captain had pledged a generous donation of Rs 80 lakh for the fight against coronavirus pandemic. Apart from Rohit Sharma, the likes of Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina and several other cricketers have also come forward to help the country during these tough times. The BCCI had also donated Rs 51 crore for the cause.
