Windies vs England 2019: 3rd Test, St Lucia – Match Review; Finally, something to cheer for Englishmen, as they have successfully sealed the victory in the final Test match of the series against Windies. After being thrashed in the first couple of Test matches, the collective performance in the final Test saved their pride.

Jos Buttler-Ben Stokes lifted the team in 1st Innings:

Initially, England once again started the game on a poor note with the top 4 batsmen walking back for a cheap score to their names. However, the brilliant partnership between Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler helped England to make a way back into the game.

Stokes scored 79 while Buttler scored 67. Meanwhile, Kemar Roach once again delivered to bag 4 wickets while Gabriel, Joseph and Paul picked up 2 wickets each.

Mark Wood shines:

In reply to England’s first innings, Windies never looked like tackling the bowlers. Mark Wood showed his class with a fiery spell to bag his maiden five-wicket haul. In between, Moeen Ali also chipped in bagging 4 wickets.

Campbell scored 41 while Dowrich contributed 36 runs to post 154 on the board, which gave a massive lead in the game for England.

Joe Root scores 122:

And yeah, finally, the skipper of England Joe Root joins the party. He smashed a brilliant 122-run knock on the board to put a massive 509-run target on the board. Joe Denly also scored 69 runs.

Roston Chase century went in vain:

Chasing the huge tally, none of the Windies batsmen stood in the middle, apart from Roston Chase. He scored an incredible unbeaten 102 runs in the tough conditions. James Anderson bagged 3 wickets alongside Moeen Ali’s 3 wickets.

Ben Stokes called curtains on the game with 2 wickets while Mark Wood picked up 1 wicket. For his 6 wickets, Mark Wood was adjudged as the man of the match while Kemar Roach was given the man of the series.
