Sunrisers Hyderabad came into existence in the IPL in 2013 and since then have been pretty consistent in the tournament. They won their first IPL title in 2016 under David Warner and reached the final in 2018. Apart from these two seasons, they also reached the playoffs in 2019 and 2020. They endured their worst season in 2021 when they finished last on the points table.
Heading into the IPL 2022 mega auction, the franchise is looking for a complete overhaul. They have retained Kane Williamson their skipper and the two Indian talents in Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.
The side has also roped in Dale Steyn and Brian Lara into their coaching staff as bowling and batting coaches.
Meanwhile, in this article, we will take a look at five lesser-known players to have played for SRH.
5 Lesser-Known Players Who Played For Sunrisers Hyderabad
Mitchell Marsh
SRH bought Mitchell Marsh ahead of IPL 2020. However, in his very first match for the side playing against RCB, he picked up an injury while running into bowl. He was released ahead of the IPL 2021 season. Marsh had represented three different IPL franchises before becoming a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He played for the Deccan Chargers, the Pune Warriors.
Srikkanth Anirudha
Srikant was released by Chennai Super Kings after the 2012 IPL season. This made the SRH management buy Srikkanth Anirudha, the son of former Indian batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth. Batting in the middle order, Aniruddha could score only three off five balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders. That match proved to be his last outing for the franchise.

He was a part of CSK till IPL 2021 but was released ahead of the mega auction. Interestingly, Karn was retained by SRH over Amit Mishra in the IPL 2015 season.
