As per reports in ANI, the IPL 2021 season will resume from September 19 and the final will be played on October 15. The finale of the season will be played on the day India celebrates Dusshera. The BCCI thus is looking at a 25-day window to host the remaining matches across the three venues in the UAE. So far 30 matches have been played and 31 are remaining including the playoffs and the final.

The BCCI is also closely working with the foreign boards to get the overseas players back in the second half of the season. Meanwhile, we take a look at an established playing XI who have never won an IPL title.

The Universe Boss has been a globetrotter in this format but has not been lucky enough to win a title in the IPL yet. He has played for three franchises and the best has come for RCB. He joined Punjab Kings in IPL 2018 and is in his fourth season now with the side.

Virat Kohli (C)

Kohli came close to winning a trophy for his sid back in 2016. He scored 973 runs in the season including four centuries in a season but lost out in the final. Since that year he also started churning out 1000 runs in Tests and ODIs which continued till 2019. Kohli has his chance of lifting the title when the 2021 season resumes in the UAE.

The word that resonates with Sanju Samson is talent. However, he has not been able to replicate his Indian Premier League talent to succeed at the international level. He has been inconsistent at the highest level which has seen him fall out of favor for selection. He was appointed as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 14th edition of the IPL.

AB de Villiers

The former Protean skipper along with Kohli has been among the most unlucky of cricketers to have never lifted the much-coveted title. De Villiers has an unmatched record in the tournament. However, despite all his success with RCB, he has failed to inspire his team to a title-winning campaign.

Rishabh Pant (WK)

Pant won six out of eight matches as the skipper of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021. He was a part of the team that made it to the final last year but lost out to Mumbai Indians. He has a chance of playing yet another final and possibly win the title in the UAE in October.

Stokes is another international superstar who has been inconsistent in the cash-rich league. He started with Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017 before Rajasthan Royals invested heavily in getting his services. He will miss the remaining phase as ECB has strictly said that they will not allow their cricketers in the remaining season.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan joined Sunrisers Hyderabad a year later after they won their maiden IPL title. He has been there and thereabouts in the wickets column every year but has not been part of an IPL winning team yet. With SRH languishing at the bottom of the table, it is unlikely that Rashid will taste success this year too.

Mohammed Shami

Shami is spearheading the Punjab Kings and Indian attack for a few seasons now. However, he is one of the popular cricketers to never have laid his hands on the title. The side is in the fifth position in the points table and Shami has a lot do in the remaining season if he wants to win the title.

Zaheer Khan

The former Indian pacer has played for three franchises in the IPL. However, with neither of the teams was he lucky enough to in the much-coveted title. He started with RCB in 2008 and came back between 2011-2013. He spent three seasons with Mumbai Indians before ending his career with Delhi Daredevils.

Jofra Archer

Archer completes the list of renowned players who have not won a title yet. He has been playing for Rajasthan Royals since 2018 but has missed many games for them owing to injury. After starting well in 2021, he will miss out on the remaining phase of the season like all his England teammates.
