The IPL 2021 is all set to resume in the UAE from September 19. The final will be played on October 15. The remaining 31 matches will be played across the three venues in the UAE. The BCCI had earlier suspended the season on May 4 after 29 matches were played till the suspension.

The BCCI are also in talks with the different boards regarding the availability of overseas players. This comes after the England & Wales Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board had earlier said that they will not send their players for the remaining of the season. Meanwhile, in this article, we will take a look at five players who can become the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season.

We start the countdown with Shikhar Dhawan who tops the runscorer’s list at the moment. He is on 380 runs from eight games and will be key for Delhi Capitals when the season resumes. The southpaw has been consistent ever since joining the side in 2019. He has scored over 1000 runs for the franchise in the last three seasons.

Dhawan’s form with the bat is key if Delhi wants to win the IPL 2021 season. He is likely to lead the Indian team in their upcoming limited-overs tour in Sri Lanka. Dhawan also can end the season as the MVP.

KL Rahul:

Ever since KL Rahul has joined the Punjab Kings he looks like a different player. The winner of the Orange Cap of IPL 2020 is second on that list again in IPL 2021. He will return fitter in the second phase of the season in the UAE. A good run with the bat in the second half can see him win the Most Valuable Player award as well. He is currently on 331 runs from seven games.

Avesh Khan is the second player from Delhi Capitals in the list for the prestigious MVP award. He is currently on the second spot in the leading wicket-takers list with 14 wickets from 8 games. His form with the ball has earned him a place ahead of the experienced Ishant Sharma.

He is also likely to be selected in the Indian squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour. He is a great addition to the depth of the Indian pace attack in recent times. he has dismissed the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, and Suryakumar Yadav in the season so far.

Moeen Ali:

Moeen Ali comes next in this list of MVP winners in IPL 2021. He played a key role with both bat and ball for CSK in the first half of the season. He has scored 201 runs from six games and picked up five wickets with the ball.

The England all-rounder replaced Suresh Raina at the number three spot in the line-up. If he is back for the remaining season, he should play all the remaining games as well for Chennai Super Kings.

The Indian all-rounder culminates the list of players who can win the MVP award in IPL 2021. He played a match-winning knock against RCB to take them down singlehandedly.

In the remaining season along with Moeen Ali, Jadeja will be a key to Chennai’s hopes of winning a fourth IPL title. He has scored 131 runs and picked up six wickets from seven games so far.
