Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have lots to ponder about their performances this season — and they will have to give their best in the auction strategies to build up a strong core. Eoin Morgan was handed over the captaincy last year and he hasn’t had much of a say in the team’s performances individually as well as through captaincy.

Despite having all the superstars in the team, KKR as a side has’t managed to get the expected results and the management and captaincy will definitely be a question mark. Varun Chakravarthy:

Varun Chakravarthy has been the standout bowler for KKR in their last two seasons and he picked up 7 wickets in the 7 games he played. The mystery bowler has a lot of variations in his kitty and can be a match-winner with the ball. His impressive outings last season earned him an Indian call up too.

He can bowl in the powerplay as well as at the crucial moments and does not bowl any loose deliveries which is a great feature of him. He has been a great addition to the side and is one of the Indian bowlers that could be relied upon. Kolkata Knight Riders should definitely get him through the RTM card.

Pat Cummins:

Pat Cummins was bought by the KKR franchise for big bucks in the 2020 Auction and he has started to show his worth as an all-rounder. He is very good with the new ball too and did very well in this IPL for KKR. He picked up 9 wickets in the 7 games he played and was the top wicket-taker of the franchise in IPL 2021.

He wasn’t very effective in the IPL 2020 and there were doubts about him being retained. The number one bowler in Test cricket showed off his batting skills in the game against CSK and almost pulled out a win for KKR from an improbable situation. He will one of the options for Kolkata Knight Riders to retain through the RTM card.

Prasidh Krishna:

Prasidh Krishna is one of the brightest young prospects in the Indian domestic circuit and he certainly has the raw pace needed to beat the defence of the batsman. He is a different bowler who uses his height to his advantage and always gets that extra bounce which could be very useful in bouncy wickets.

He was one of the consistent performers for KKR this season picking up 8 wickets in the 7 games and he recently made his debut for India too in the one-day games against England. He has shown a lot of promise for the future and will be in eyes of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise to be retained by the RTM card.
