Mumbai Indians have been the most successful team in the IPL and one of the reasons behind their dominance has been the strong Indian contingent in their squad. They have a good set of Indian players who can be match-winners on their own and they can win matches without the overseas players too.

The overseas players have a crucial part to play in the team, but the Indian players always been the number one priority for the franchise, and it has yielded them better results with five titles under their belt. Rohit Sharma is certainly going to be one of the first names on the squad when it comes to Mumbai Indians and the skipper has been in really good form at the top of the order. He will cherish opening the batting and was the top scorer for the Mumbai Indians in the 7 games he played in the 2021 edition. He is the most successful captain in the IPL history with five titles after he has taken over the captaincy reigns.

Ishan Kishan(WK):

Ishan Kishan is expected to partner alongside Rohit at the top of the order and he can do the glove work too. Ishan Kishan is one of the best talents going around in Indian cricket right now and the youngster was very impressive in his debut for India recently in the home series against England. He was the top scorer for Mumbai Indians in their title-winning campaign in 2020.

Suryakumar Yadav:

Suryakumar Yadav will remain at three, where he has been batting for the last two editions and he is an integral part of the Mumbai Indian setup now. He plays a lot of unorthodox shots and is one of the versatile players who have both the offensive and the defensive game. His contributions to the franchise have been immense in the last two years.

Saurabh Tiwary:

Saurabh Tiwary has been out on the sidelines for the most part of the tournament but he tends to deliver whenever he gets an opportunity in the playing XI. He is one of the powerful strikers of the cricket ball and he provides another left-hand option in the middle. He was used as a backup option whenever the regular players needed rest and there were some injury concerns.

Hardik Pandya did not start well in the IPL 2021 on the Chennai grounds, but he picked up his form again at the Delhi wicket and played a crucial knock against the Chennai Super Kings. He has been one of the most destructive finishers in the last two to three years and he generates an enormous amount of power while striking the ball. Mumbai Indians will be very happy if he can provide them with more than two overs on a consistent basis.

Krunal Pandya is a regular starter in the Mumbai Indians lineup and he can be used as a floater in the batting order. He has come up with important knocks for the franchise when they needed it the most and his left-arm spin is a handy option to have. He recently made the cut into the Indian ODI side and performed really well with the bat despite conceding a lot of runs.

Anukul Roy has been on the sidelines for a long time and he has been used as a 12th man more often for the franchise. He came up through the ranks at first from the U-19 world cup and the Jharkhand all-rounder has been spoken off highly in the domestic circuit. He can bat at seven and can provide another bowling option with his left-arm spin. He is one of the electric fielders in the Mumbai Indians squad.

This was going to be a match-up between Piyush Chawla and Jayant Yadav for the spot, but with already a leggie in the playing XI, it was wiser to go with the off-spin all-rounder. Jayant Yadav has got very few opportunities but has stepped up whenever the captain needed him to and he is very good against the left-handers. He is one of the economical bowlers in the squad too.

Dhawal Kulkarni is the only fast bowler in IPL history to have played at least one game in every season of the IPL so far and he is a consistent performer in the domestic circuit too. He bowls some testing lines and lengths with the new ball and shapes it both ways to make it very difficult for the batsmen. He has a lot of experience playing in the cash-rich tournament for various franchises.

Rahul Chahar is going to be an automatic pick and will lead the spin department for the franchise. He has bowling exceedingly well in the IPL 2021 picking up 11 wickets in 7 games. He turned matches around to winning stages from the verge of defeat and has been an integral member of the bowling lineup now in the Mumbai Indians franchise.

Bumrah is one of the leading pacers in world cricket now and Mumbai Indians will be happy to have him in the franchise. He started his IPL career with the franchise and ever since that, he has been moving in an upward direction. He bowls the tough overs and nails the yorkers in the final overs making him one of the toughest bowlers to hit in the tournament.
