Punjab Kings have been part of the Indian Premier League since its debut edition in IPL 2008 and have played all in all the 14 seasons of the tournament. Punjab Kings was earlier known as Kings XI Punjab and changed its name in IPL 2021. Out of 13 seasons excluding IPL 2021, the franchise have managed to reach playoffs on only two occasions. IPL 2008

Yuvraj Singh led Punjab Kings in IPL 2008. The team entered the semi-final after finishing 3rd on the points table. They lost to Chennai Super Kings in the semi-final. The team played 15 matches in the tournament, out of which they won 10 and lost 5. The team scored 2464 runs in the season. Shaun Marsh was the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 616 runs in 11 innings.

IPL 2009

Yuvraj Singh again led the franchise in the 2nd edition of the tournament in 2009. Punjab Kings finished on the 5th spot in the points table and did not qualify for playoffs. Out of 14 matches, they won 7 games and lost 7. The Yuvraj Singh and boys smashed 1928 runs in the tournament. Skipper Yuvraj Singh smashed 340 runs in 14 innings and was the highest run-getter for his team.

IPL 2010

The team was led by Kumar Sangakkara in IPL 2010. The team finished on the last 8th spot in the points table after the group stage. They won just 3 matches and lost 10 after playing 14 matches. KL Rahul finished as the highest run-scorer of the team as well as the tournament with 670 runs in 14 innings.
