The ICC Men's rankings are a comprehensive system devised by the ICC to rank the teams and players on the basis of their performance in the all the three formats of international cricket.
For players, the ICC Men's rankings are divided into three categories for each of the three formats - batsmen, bowlers and allrounders. The players are ranked in the three categories and for each format on the basis of different factors.
The performance of the players is not the sole criteria for the points they earn. Apart from their performance, several other factors are also taken into account such as the quality of the opposition and match conditions. Even for the teams' rankings, the quality of the opposition and match conditions are considered as well.
The ICC Men's rankings are updated regularly although the timing is different for the players and team's rankings. The ICC Men's rankings for the players are updated every Wednesday. On the other hand, the team's rankings are updated after every series in Tests and after every match in ODIs and T20Is.
