The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the Indian cricket team’s jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 to be held in the UAE. The multi-nation tournament begins on October 17 with the qualifiers taking place in Oman.

Ahead of the tournament, the BCCI tweeted a picture of the jersey sported by five Indian players – KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah. MPL Sports is the team’s official kit sponsor.

BCCI captioned the tweet: “Presenting the Billion Cheers Jersey! The patterns on the jersey are inspired by the billion cheers of the fans. Get ready to #ShowYourGame @mpl_sport.

Check out BCCI’s tweet here:

The color is predominantly dark blue, with a tinge of orange around the collar and the sides. It has the flavour of the special jersey worn by India during their match against England in the 2019 ODI World Cup.

For ICC events, teams aren’t allowed to wear jerseys that have their sponsor’s logo on the front. However, the one released by the BCCI has Byju’s printed on it. Therefore, it will be compelling to see if there are any changes made to the jersey.
