Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has shared a picture of Mohammad Rizwan wherein he can be seen lying on a hospital bed ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 2nd semi-final match between Pakistan and Australia. Notably, Australia beat Pakistan by 5 wickets to pave their way through the final of the T20 World Cup 2021.
Both these sides were engaged in a nail-biting thriller as the two teams had their moments throughout the match. Losing the toss, Pakistan were put in to bat by the Aussies. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave a fiery start to the Men in Green and Fakhar Zaman played a blitzkrieg cameo towards the death of the innings to help Pakistan finish on a very challenging total of 176 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman scored half-centuries for the subcontinent giants whereas captain Babar Azam came in with a handy contribution of 39 runs. However, Matthew Wade’s flurry of sixes in the 19th over of the match after being dropped by Hasan Ali in the same over proved to be the deciding factor as Australia stormed through the final. David Warner was the top scorer for the Aussies scoring 49 runs.
On the eve of the 2nd semi-final, media reports emerged stating Rizwan and Shoaib Malik had missed the final practice sessions as they were down with flu. Later, the team doctor confirmed it too and Rizwan and Malik both decided to play for the country in an important match. Now, Shoaib Akhtar has shared a picture of Rizwan showing how bad a state was the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman ahead of the match.
“Can you imagine this guy played for his country today & gave his best. He was in the hospital last two days. Massive respect @iMRizwanPak.Hero.” Shoaib Akhtar wrote on Twitter.

Pakistan Out Of Yet Another ICC Knockout Match After Being Beaten By Australia
This was Pakistan’s fourth defeat in four ICC knockout matches by the hands of the Australians. The Men in Green have never won an ICC knockout match against the Aussies and the record continued on Thursday in Dubai. As for Australia, no one would have predicted them to reach the final of the tournament at the inception of the mega event.
They now face New Zealand in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Revenge will be high on New Zealand’s mind as they were beaten by the Kangaroos in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup final and if they manage to beat the Kangaroos in the final, they will get their hands on their second ICC title in this calendar year having already won the ICC World Test Championship final against India earlier this year in June.
