Aaron Finch-led Australia National Cricket Team won the semi-final 2 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team by 5 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, November 11.
Winning the toss Australia invited Pakistan to bat first and batting first Pakistan batters did a brilliant job. Skipper Babar Azam, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman played amazing innings and helped Pakistan post 176 runs on the board.

Chasing the target skipper Finch was dismissed in the first over on duck by Shaheen Shah Afridi. However, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh provided some stability to the batting unit by adding good 51 runs.
In the end, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade marched Australia towards a 5-wicket victory with Wade smashing 3 consecutive sixes off Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Now Australia will face off Kane Williamson-led New Zealand National Cricket Team in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 which will begin on November 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
It Was A Great Game Of Cricket – Aaron Finch

During the post-match presentation, Australia skipper Finch showered praise on Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis for finishing off the game for the team. He said:
“Never thought it was in the bag. It was a great game of cricket. The way Wade held his nerve at the end was amazing. That partnership with Stoinis was crucial.”

Aaron Finch further mentioned that they were not very active and were “sloppy” on the field. He said:
” I got my feet in a tangle and opening batsmen do get a few good balls now and then in T20 cricket. We were sloppy today in the field, a couple of tough ones. We need the support of all 17 players to get across the line.”
Aaron Finch also revealed that he was hoping that he loses the toss and gets an opportunity to bat first so that they can post good runs on the board and defend the target. He asserted:
” We have played some really good cricket in the back end. Teams chasing have been successful. There is no dew, the lights take effect. I was hoping I’d lose the toss, bat first and put up a good score on the board.”
