Later, New Zealand took every precaution during the chase. Opener Daryl Mitchell slammed 49 runs while Kane Williamson hit an unbeaten 33. New Zealand comfortably reached the target in 14.3 overs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah picked 2 wickets.

Talking about Afghanistan, the team defeated Namibia in their previous match. Batting first, Afghanistan piled up 160-5 on the board. Openers Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shahzad scored 33 and 45 respectively. Later, Asghar Afghan and Mohammad Nabi hit 31 and 32.

Namibia batsmen could not do much against Afghan’s bowling attack. David Wiese was the highest run-getter with 26 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq and Hamid Hassan picked 3 wickets each. Gulbadin Naib grabbed 2 wickets as Afghanistan won by 62 runs.

India take the 5th spot in group 2 points table in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. India have played 2 games and lost both of them. Afghanistan are placed on the 2nd spot in the points table. They have played 3 games, out of which they won 2 and lost 1.
