Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth believes that it’s high time that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have a look at their scheduling system and make sure to take the proper care of all the Indian cricketers.

Recently Star Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah opened up about the bio-bubble fatigue and the mental fatigue a player faces staying in the bio-bubble for a long period of time.  He said:

Absolutely, you need a break, But this is the reality of the times we are living in; it’s difficult, it’s a pandemic and we are staying in bubbles. We try to adapt but bubble fatigue and mental fatigue also creeps in. You are doing the same thing again and again. It is the way it is, and you can’t control a lot of things over here,”

Jasprit Bumrah also said that staying away from family is a very difficult thing for the players and the scheduling of the events is not in their hands. However, Bumrah also said that BCCI is taking proper care of players. He stated:

Sometimes you miss your family after being on the road for SIX months… You don’t control all of those things: the scheduling and all and what tournament is played when, Obviously, staying in a bubble and staying away from your family for such a long time does play a role on the players’ minds. But the BCCI has also tried their best to make us feel comfortable.”

Most of the senior Indian players have been in bio-bubbles for a very long time now. They travelled to England in June for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand and the subsequent 5-match Test series against England. After that, they played IPL 2021 and just after that, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 commenced.
