Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund feels that KL Rahul has been the biggest positive for India in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. His words arrive after the Indian team has been ruled out of the semi-finals in the tournament. Pakistan and New Zealand are the two teams that will move into the semi-finals from group 2.
India have played 4 matches in the tournament so far, winning 2 games and losing 2. India lost their first two games to Pakistan and New Zealand. Later, they defeated Afghanistan and Scotland. In their final match of the super 12 round, India will face Namibia. However, this will not make any changes to the semi-finals’ spots.
KL Rahul Has Been Prolific As An Opener: Abhinav Mukund
While speaking to CricketAddictor in an exclusive video, Abhinav Mukund said that KL Rahul has been prolific for India as an opener. He deserves his time at the top of the order.
“It is very diffifult to pick positives in such a campaign especially after they have lost to Pakistan and New Zealand. But if I had to pick one, it would be KL Rahul because as an opener he has been prolific and he deserves his time at the top of the order”, Mukund said.
Mukund also feels that India should stick with KL Rahul at the top of the order so that he can deliver for the team in future.
“If he continues to fire I think India will be a force to reckon with in the coming games and the coming tournaments and possibly for the next world cup in Australia. He has shown that kind of form and I think India should persist with him at the top of the order so that he continues to deliver for them”, Mukund further added.

After 4 games, KL Rahul is the highest run-getter for India in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. He has slammed 140 runs in 4 games at an average of 35.0 and strike rate of 153+. The right-handed batsman also slammed two half-centuries in the matches against Afghanistan and Scotland.

Meanwhile, England will face New Zealand in the 1st semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021. Pakistan will take on Australia in the other semi-final. England vs New Zealand clash will take place on November 10 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Besides, Pakistan vs Australia encounter will be played on November 11 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
