Former England captain Michael Vaughan said that the New Zealand cricket team is the best in all formats of the game.

New Zealand defeated India on Sunday by eight wickets to register their first win in the ongoing T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first, with both new-ball bowlers getting early wickets in the game.

Trent Boult got Ishan Kishan caught at deep backward square leg, and after being hit for a couple of boundaries, Tim Southee got the better of KL Rahul.

New Zealand spinners were very effective as they not only controlled the flow of runs but also chipped in with wickets.

Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as India were reduced to 48/4 after 10.1 overs.

New Zealand bowlers were successful in holding the Indians for a below-par total of 110/7.

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill started the chase with some brisk shots before he mistimed a slower delivery by Jasprit Bumrah to get caught by Shardul Thakur at mid-on.

Nut Guptill’s partner Daryl Mitchell along with skipper Kane Williamson stitched a 72-run stand to pave the way for the low target.

Mitchell could not reach his maiden T20I fifty in the shortest format as he lofted Bumrah for a big shot that ended up in KL Rahul’s hands at long-on, and the batter went on for 49.

However, Williamson remained unbeaten on 33 as the Black Caps continued their domination against India in ICC tournaments.

New Zealand are pound for pound the best all-format Cricket team: Michael Vaughan

New Zealand have managed to reach the knockout stages of all ICC competitions and were crowned the inaugural champions of the World Test Championship 2019/21 this year in June.

Vaughan said that the Black Caps are the best team currently in all formats.

“No one will admit it including themselves as they are so humble but #NZ are pound for pound the best all format Cricket team in the World at the moment … #Fact #T20WorldCup,” Vuaghan tweeted.

New Zealand’s win against India will give them the confidence to qualify for the semi-finals from Group 2. New Zealand will play Scotland on November 3 in their next game on November 3 in Dubai.
