Star England pacer Mark Wood has revealed a skill that he would like to steal from his rival Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah.
India and England entered the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 tournament as favourites to win the championship the latter played like champions and won 4 consecutive games to make it to the semi-finals.
India, on the other hand, had a horrible outing as they faced back-to-back defeats in the first two games against Pakistan and New Zealand, which eventually resulted in them getting knocked out of the tournament.
Meanwhile, 4 semi-finalists of this year’s tournament are Australia, England from Group 1 and New Zealand Pakistan from Group 2. New Zealand will lock horns with England on Wednesday, November 10, and Pakistan will go head-to-head with Australia on Thursday, November 11.
Mark Wood Reveals A Skill He Wants To Steal From Jasprit Bumrah
Ahead of the semi-final clash against New Zealand, Wood had a fun conversation with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in which he was asked if he could steal skill from a rival, then who would it be to which he replied that he wants to steal Bumrah’s yorker delivering abilities. He said:
“Bumrah. Maybe, five steps of having a perfect yorker.”
He was further questioned, “How would you steal?” to which speedster Wood replied:
“I would probably get something like in the movie Space Jump. Instead of getting a basketball, I would get a cricket ball. Suck all the energy out of him and then I get the superpower.”

England will be hoping for a better performance from Wood, who had a poor outing in the sole game that he has played in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against South Africa. Notably, Wood gave away 47 runs in 4 overs quota and went wicketless.
