Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin believes that Virat Kohli is facing a lot of criticism for India’s poor performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, but Virat’s teammates and coaches are also equally responsible for India’s flop show.

India entered the tournament as favourites to win, However, they have now lost two consecutive games in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, and it looks like India will be knocked out of the tournament very soon.

After India’s 8-wicket defeat against New Zealand, Azharuddin took to Twitter to assert that along with Virat Kohli, all the other players and coaches should be blamed for the performance. He also said that it was a scary Halloween for Indian fans.

Virat Kohli is facing criticism but it’s the entire team and the coaches that have failed and not just one man. It turned out to be a scary Halloween for Indian fans, Mohammad Azharuddin tweeted.

Talking about the New Zealand game, India made two big changes in the playing XI they dropped Bhuvneshwar Kumar and added Shardul Thakur as his replacement. Also, Suryakumar Yadav was dropped due to a back spasm, and Ishan Kishan came in as his replacement opened the inning with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma was pushed down to bat at number 3.

India’s top-order batters looked completely out of form, KL Rahul got out after scoring 18 runs off 16 balls, Rohit Sharma scored 14 off 14, and Skipper Virat Kohli, who batted brilliantly in the last game, was also sent back to the dugout in the 11th over by Ish Sodhi, and he scored only 9 runs off 17 deliveries. In the end, with the help of Ravindra Jadeja’s decent 26 runs knock, India posted a low total of 110 runs.

Defending the target except for Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy, all other bowlers looked clueless, and New Zealand completed the chase in 14.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-led have to win the upcoming 3 games and will have to depend on the results of other teams to make it to the semi-finals. India will next lock horns with Afghanistan National Cricket Team on November 3 at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
