In the T20 World Cup, Conway needed 36 balls to reach his first half-century. He then needed 12 more runs to surpass the 1000-run mark for his T20I career. He committed the theft against Pat Cummins in the 14th over of New Zealand’s innings after lofting an extra drive on the length ball to score three runs.

Devon Conway became the second-fastest player in T20I history to reach 1000 runs:

Conway reached the mark in his 26th international innings, and after that, he tied for the second-fastest time to 1000 runs in T20I cricket. He equaled Pakistani captain Babar and passed former India captain Kohli, who needed 27 innings to reach the milestone. The longest batters to reach the milestone were Sabawoon Davizi of Afghanistan and Dawid Malan of England, who both did it in 24 innings.

New Zealand scored 200 for three in 20 overs thanks to Conway’s unbeaten 92-ball knock, which included seven boundaries and two maximums.
