India National Cricket Team vice-captain KL Rahul failed once again in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 as he was able to score just 9 runs in the match against Netherlands National Cricket Team.
The 23rd match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is being played between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Scott Edwards-led Netherlands National Cricket Team at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, October 27.

India National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. Both sides made no changes to the team and they fielded the same playing XI.
Rahul started off his innings with an amazing off drive to get a boundary off the first over. However, on the 4th ball of the third over, Rahul was trapped LBW by Paul van Meekeren. He was able to score just 9 runs off 12 balls, including one four.
The 29-year-old Netherlands pacer Paul van Meekeren bowled a full-length delivery to the 30-year-old opener that angled in towards the pads. Rahul went for the flick but he missed it completely and got hit on the front pad. Umpire Ahsan Raza took his time in making the decision, but in the end, he raised his finger.
Rahul instantly had a discussion with captain Rohit Sharma about whether to take a review. It looked like Rahul was convinced that the ball was hitting the stumps and he decided against the review even though Rohit suggested it might be going down the leg. Later the replays, showed that the ball was indeed missing the stumps and going down the leg.
KL Rahul, who has been facing heavy criticism for his poor strike rate in T20Is in recent times, had also failed miserably in India’s tournament opener against arch-rivals Pakistan as he had scored just 4 runs off 8 balls, before being cleaned up by Naseem Shah.
