England and New Zealand go head to head in match 33 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Gabba on November 1. England plays Sri Lanka in their final Super 1 game while the Kiwis play Ireland. The Englishmen have won just one out of their three games while the Kiwis have two of their three.
England began their campaign by beating Afghanistan. They lost to Ireland and their match against Australia was rained out. Jos Buttler, the England skipper expressed his disappointment over the rained-out game against Australia.
“We’ve been playing some good cricket leading into the tournament. Really disappointing the other night especially when we had the majority of things in our favor. We don’t become a bad team overnight. We are full of match-winners. Looking forward to the rest of the tournament. The guys are rested up well and we were ready to play tonight as well. A few days now to clear everything out, have a couple of good training days and then look forward to the next game” said Buttler.
New Zealand, on the other hand, registered a big victory over Sri Lanka. After scoring 167 with the bat on the back of Glenn Phillips’ 104, the bowlers bowled out the Lankans for just 102 winning the game by 65 runs.
“We were being aggressive but keeping it simple in the powerplay, the length ball was the most difficult to hit, so we stuck to that and those cutters. The boys executed the plans really well” said skipper Kane Williamson.
