The craze for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is getting bigger day by day. It is assumed that this year’s T20 World Cup would be the biggest in the history of T20 World Cups. The pitches and grounds in Australia will make the batters work hard for sixes and clearing the boundary won’t be an easy task by any means.
In the 2021 edition, we witnessed how the Indian Cricket Team got knocked out in the 1st round itself. A couple of bad games can end the journey for any team which is the cruelty of this game. It won’t be a surprise if Afghanistan upset a big team in the tournament as their team has also started making huge strides.
Steve Harmison Picks his 5 Teams to Win T20 World Cup 2022
‘I can see England and Australia troubling India at the World Cup,’ said Harmison. T20s are about somebody producing a moment of brilliance and I don’t think India are necessarily favorites or playing the best cricket.” said Steve Harmison.
“Obviously Kohli could get India to the semi-final of the World Cup with just a couple of scores, he is a fantastic player and he can get India there.” said the former fast bowler
“If anyone gets 100 from 50 balls they will get their team over the line. You can win all your games to get to the semi-final, but in T20 there is always the chance that someone gets 100 and they’ll win.” said Harmison
“One player can change everything on any day, which is what T20 is all about, and England, Australia, Pakistan and New Zealand have match-winners as well as India.” he added
Tough Task for Australia
In the 1st T20I match of Australia vs West Indies; the world cricket witnessed Australia’s downfall. In the end Aussies won the match but their batters were unable to play short balls well. This weakness has got exposed and would be targeted by other teams.
Australia had pulled off an unexpected heist in T20 World Cup 2021. But such feats don’t happen regularly. The middle order of Australia looks a bit fragile. Australia have shown that they are a team of match-winners but winning T20 World Cup at home soil would be a bit difficult.
