The World Cricket is all set to witness a thriller in an octane clash of India vs Pakistan. India would be eyeing revenge for their T20 World Cup 2021 defeat. The Men in Blue would be aware that defeating Pakistan won’t be easy as Pakistan is coming back after a Tri-Series triumph in New Zealand.
Pakistan would be backing their pace attack ahead to shine just like the 2021 clash. All eyes would be on Shaheen Afridi who is making a comeback after a long injury lay-off. It is expected that the wicket of MCG would have a tinge of grass which would help the seamers.
Gautam Gambhir on Pakistan Pacers
Gambhir was having an interaction with Zee News and was asked about Pakistan. “Among all the teams in this T20 World Cup, Pakistan have the best bowlers, especially pacers. If you look at Australia, they have just one bowler who can bowl over 140 kmph. For England, Mark Wood can bowl over 150 kmph. But for Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah all can bowl over 140 clicks. Fast bowling is their strength.” said Gambhir.
Middle Order Conundrum for Pakistan
Pakistan batting line up is entirely dependent on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to amass runs. The duo all the time won’t be able to score significantly. The loss of Fakhar Zaman is a massive blow to the team as he could have provided stability to the middle order.
The likes of Shadab Khan should bat at No.4 position as he can score quickly against the spinners and can provide the impetus to the batting line up. It would be interesting to see whether Pakistan change their approach or continue their old-school technique.
