New Zealand and Ireland go head to head in match 37 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at Adelaide on November 4. The Kiwis are unbeaten in this World Cup so far while the Irish are fresh off their defeat against Australia in their last match. New Zealand plays a crucial game against England on November 1 before playing against Ireland.

The points table is tight in Group 1 with New Zealand, Australia and England. Two of those three teams are likely to make the semis of the World Cup. New Zealand is the only team that is unbeaten in the World Cup so far in the Super 12 stage.

The super 12 round began on October 22 with the first match between Australia and New Zealand- the finalists of last year’s T20 World Cup. A total of 45 matches will take place during ICC T20 World Cup 2022. A total of 16 teams are part of the tournament. The final will be played on November 13.

Ireland’s chances of making the semis have diminished further after losing the game against Australia. The side got bowled out for 137 aiming to chase 180 to win. Lorcan Tucker played a lone hand of 71 as none of the other batters could stay on to support him. Gareth Delany scored 14 which was the second-highest scorer by any batsman for the Irish in the game.

“It was hardly fought. The first innings got away, we bowled well but a couple of overs didn’t go our way and certainly didn’t get the start with the bat, but to show the fight at the end was nice. Looking at the scoreboard we thought it wasn’t against us, again the wickets column was a problem and who knows if someone had stayed with Tucker. He has had a really good World Cup and these wickets here suit him” said the Irish skipper Balbirnie.
