He dismissed Quinton de Kock, Rilee Rossouw and Heinrich Klaasen in the match and finished his spell with the bowling figures of 3-0-14-3.
Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi, at 22 years and 211 days, leapfrogged Australia Women’s National Cricket Team pacer Elysse Perry, who bagged 50 T20I wickets at 23 years and 144 days.
Also, he became the fourth youngest bowler in history to bag 50 T20I wickets after Rashid Khan, Stephanie Taylor and Deepti Sharma.
Shaheen Shah Afridi doesn’t look match-ready to me – Wasim Jaffer
Premier Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi had sustained a right knee ligament injury during a Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle, which had kept him out of action for a very long time. Afridi, after missing the marquee Asia Cup 2022 tournament, made a comeback in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 but has not looked at his best.
Meanwhile, former India opener Wasim Jaffer has said that the premier left-arm pacer Shaheen doesn’t look match-ready.
“Shaheen Shah Afridi doesn’t look match-ready to me. Even though he played a few games, I think they rushed him and played him. I don’t think we have seen the kind of pace we relate to Shaheen Shah Afridi.
“He is bowling mid-30s (mid 130 kmph) at his best and obviously, he came out of surgery, so I don’t think he is at his best. I think probably Pakistan is missing a trick by playing him just for the sake of him Shaheen Shah Afridi,” said Jaffer on Run Ki Runneeti show on CricTracker.
