South Africa takes on the Netherlands in match 40 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide on Sunday, November 6. It is the first of the three games to be played on the day. The match starts at 10.30 local time which is 5.30 am IST. This is the last Super 12 game for both teams in the tournament.

South Africa are not unbeaten anymore in the tournament having lost to Pakistan in their previous game by 33 runs by the DLS method. They have beaten Bangladesh and India after their match against Zimbabwe was rained out. They are still placed second on the points table with five points from four games. India tops the table with six points from four games.

The Proteas have won four games are now being seen as one of the favorites to win the tournament. They absolutely decimated India and Pakistan after their big win over Bangladesh and the rained-out game against Zimbabwe.

“In the past year we’ve found ourselves in tricky situations and managed to get over the line. The guys have managed to find their roles. If one of us is not doing well, another one picks up the slack. It’s difficult to do well in this format because there are a lot of variables, but we’ve managed to do well as a team” said David Miller on different players standing up for the team in different games.

South Africa’s pace attack has been the team’s biggest asset in this World Cup. Against India, particularly in Perth the bowlers going short against the Indian batters became a very good strategy. The bowlers applied the same strategy against Pakistan as well making them uncomfortable against the short ball.

Having lost three of their four Super 12 games so far, the Netherlands have a job on their hands against South Africa with their pace trip waiting to unleash. The Dutch beating the Proteas will certainly be an upset in the tournament.
