Watch: Dinesh Karthik Gets Run Out After Misunderstanding With Virat Kohli In The IND vs BAN ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Match

India keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik was left stranded in the middle and was run out after a misunderstanding with Virat Kohli as India looked for quick runs in their ICC T20 World Cup 2022 match against Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on November 2, 2022.

Both the teams have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals, with India a bit ahead on net run rate and needing to win their matches against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Bangladesh will next face Pakistan.

The Bangladeshi captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and chose to bowl first in cold, overcast conditions. He also revealed that Shoriful Islam, the pacer, replaced Soumya Sarkar in the team. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma revealed that Axar Patel was back in the playing XI replacing Deepak Hooda.

Bangladeshi bowlers kept the Indian openers quiet for the first 4-5 overs as KL Rahul struggled to get going against Taskin Ahmed who bowled brilliantly with the new ball. Rohit Sharma got out for 2 runs trying to force the pace into the innings.

But then KL Rahul got some form back with Virat Kohli guiding him as he hit his first half-century of this tournament. Rahul made 50 in 32 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours. Suryakumar Yadav then hit a quick 30 in 16 balls before Shakib Al Hasan clean-bowled him.

Virat Kohli Continues His Golden Run In The Tournament; But Gets Dinesh Karthik Run Out

India lost wickets looking for quick runs as Hardik Pandya fell for 5 runs and Dinesh Karthik came in to replace him. The veteran keeper-batter looked busy and hit a four as well, but was then run out going for a non-existent run when Kohli hit a ball straight to extra cover.

Kohli’s shot went straight into the fielder’s hands and Karthik haring down the wicket was sent back despite a desperate dive, Karthik was found short of his ground. He and Kohli had some words after his dismissal but had to walk off.
