While chasing the target, England openers – Jos Buttler and Alex Hales – destroyed the Indian bowlers and they had a 170-run partnership in 16 overs. The highest partnership in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup inspired England to a spectacular win over India. Now, they will take on Pakistan in the summit clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Meanwhile, after India’s humiliating loss to England in Adelaide, a video went viral on social media in which the Indian captain Rohit Sharma was seen in tears in the dugout.

Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, India captain Rohit Sharma said that they were unable to execute their plans in the semi-final game and found themselves in trouble.

“When we won the first game, it showed a lot of character. The game against Bangladesh, it was a tricky one. I thought it was difficult defending 85 runs in 9 overs, but we held our nerve and executed our plans. Couldn’t do that today, and when you don’t execute your plans, you are in trouble,” he said.

“Pretty disappointed how it turned up today. We batted well at the backend to get that score. We were not up to the mark with the ball, we couldn’t turn up today. It’s all about handling the pressure in knockout games,” he added.
