The Aussies didn’t have a great start to Day 2 as Travis Head was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. Siraj laumched a short ball barrage and got the wicket of Travis Head. Cameron Green came into bat at the No.6 position and he played his natural attacking game.

The star batter Steve Smith notched up his 31st Test ton and in the very first over, he smashed two back-to-back boundaries and made a statement. The batter had a topsy-turvy BGT 2023.

The pacers weren’t keen on attacking stumps which was quite rare to see. The senior veteran speedster Shami was bowling impeccable lines & lengths and cramped the batters for the room.

Cameron Green was dismissed on 6 runs in 7 balls and should have shown some resistance rather than playing an aggressive brand of cricket. Australia’s score at 94.2 overs was 376-5.

Crucial Phase for Australia

The dynamic right-handed batter Steve Smith will have to bat till the end of the innings as Alex Carey doesn’t have a promising record. Aussies must aim to post a score in excess of 450 as India have got a deep batting lineup.

Skipper Rohit Sharma would be considering the foxy speedster Shardul Thakur from one end. Shardul Thakur has the knack of picking big wickets as a couple of more wickets here would put India in a state of ascendancy.
