Australia got a massive lead of 173 runs after bowling out India for 296 runs in 69.4. Virat Kohli‘s rare failure hurt the team a lot. There were huge expectations from Virat Kohli but was dismissed on 14 runs in 31 balls by the lethal speedster Mitchell Starc.

It was a topsy-turvy Day 3 for India as the star batter Ajinkya Rahane missed out on a well-deserving ton after getting out on 89 runs in 129 balls and struck 11 fours and 1 six. Rahane formed a crucial partnership of 109 runs with Shardul Thakur and changed the course of the match

Shardul Thakur attained a massive feat as he struck 3 back to back half-centuries at the Oval. Shardul Thakur got hit on his forearm quite a few times as there was an awkward bounce from the surface.

Mohammed Siraj, the threatening speedster perturbed the batters with his sheer pace and impeccable lines & lengths. At the end of 4 overs, Australia’s score was 2 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.

Exciting Phase on Cards

Aussies will have to carefully play out the passage (*before the evening session) as losing another wicket would not help the side. All eyes would be on Usman Khawaja as the batter will have to play a long & sensible knock for the team.

Aussies have a lead of 175 runs and would be aiming to take the lead past 300 runs which will give the team a psychological advantage in the high-octane clash. There’s still ample time left in the match as Labuschagne can take his time before playing an attacking brand of cricket.
