The second Test match of the three-match Test series between Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies National Cricket Team and Joe Root-led England National Cricket Team, which is a part of ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle, ended in a draw.
The second match of the series was played at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados and the England team won the toss and opted to bat first. The No.3, No.4 and No.5 of the England team, which were Joe Root, Dan Lawrence, and Ben Stokes batted brilliantly in the match. The English skipper scored 153 runs, Dan scored 91 runs and star all-rounder Stokes contributed 120 runs to help England post 507/9d on the board.
West Indies, in their first innings, with the help of amazing centuries by Kraigg Brathwaite and Jermaine Blackwood were able to post 411 runs on the board.
England were having a small lead so they decided to bat in the next innings and scored 185 runs before declaring the innings. West Indies got the target of 282 runs to chase and Kraigg Brathwaite once again fired but West Indies were able to score only 135 for 5 at the end of Day 5.
The best bowling performer from England was spinner Jack Leach who bagged a total of 6 wickets in the match and from West Indies, it was Veerasammy Permaul who bagged 5 wickets in the match.
Meanwhile, the three-match series is levelled at 0-0 and the teams will be playing the series decider at the National Cricket Stadium, St George’s, Grenada from March 24.

After the second match ending in a draw both the teams are placed in the bottom half of the table, England are at the last spot with 13.64 percentage points and West Indies are at the eighth spot with 25.00 percentage points.
