Indian captain Rohit Sharma is on the march as India are chasing 353 in the third ODI against Australia in Rajkot. India have already won the series winning the first two games and are now eyeing to clean-sweep the Aussies.

Rohit after being rested from the first two ODIs has returned into the playing XI to lead the side. Along with him, Virat Kohli, Mohd Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav are also back in the XI. The pacer picked one wicket on his return and Kuldeep picked two.

Meanwhile, Rohit is playing with a particularly attacking approach as India are eyeing to hunt down 353. He played some exquisite shots to start off his innings. He pulled Pat Cummins over square leg and hit Mitchell Starc over covers to get the first two sixes in his innings.

He also got to his fourth ODI fifty in his last five innings as he brought up a stylish fifty. Rohit is India’s leading run-getter against Australia with over 2000 runs and is playing another crucial knock for his team.

 

During his innings, he became the batter to hit most sixes at home in international ODI cricket. Rohit leads the tally with 257 sixes at home followed by Kiwis Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum with 256 and 230 respectively. Chris Gayle sits fourth on the list with 228 sixes at home followed by MS Dhoni fifth on the list with 186 sixes at home.

He is also closing in on most international ODI sixes. He has now hit over 550 sixes in ODI cricket including the sixes hit in the third ODI and is the fastest to that landmark. Australia after their 50 overs finished with 352/7 with contributions from David Warner (56), Steve Smith (74), and Marnus Labuschagne (72) apart from Marsh. India now needs 353 to win and clean-sweep the Aussies heading into the World Cup.
