Senior India batter KL Rahul recently appeared in a rapid-fire Q&A session with official IPL TV broadcasters Star Sports who tangled the batter in a number of interesting questions. When asked to choose one Bollywood actor who could play him in a possible biopic, Rahul chose Ranbir Kapoor over every other as the one to do so.

KL Rahul has been out with a recurring quadriceps injury he sustained during India’s opening Test match against England in Hyderabad. He subsequently missed the 2nd Test in Vishakhapatnam but was named in the Indian squad for the remaining 3 Tests in which his participation would have been determined if he passed the fitness tests.

But unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get the green light for the 3rd Test as the niggles on his quadriceps were still pretty much restricting him to bat. The BCCI in turn named Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal as Rahul’s replacement while Rajat Patidar filled up for him at number 4.

“KL Rahul, whose availability for the remaining three Tests was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the third Test against England in Rajkot. Mr. Rahul has reached 90 per cent of match fitness and is progressing well under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. The Men’s Selection Committee named Devdutt Padikkal as KL Rahul’s replacement for the third Test, starting February 15, 2024.” – the BCCI wrote in its press release.

Rahul reveals some interesting facts about him

Now getting back to the Q&A session, the first question that was asked to Rahul was how he describes himself the best. To which Rahul replied, “Calm and class with KL”. Then he was asked about his pre-match rituals, something that players very often carry out before heading into a match. To that he replied, “I don’t really have one, I try and break all my rituals, that is the ritual that I have”.

KL Rahul was then asked about the people who inspire him and he gave a heartwarming response to that. “In life my father but I think on the cricket field, I’ve been very inspired by AB de Villiers”. When asked about an alternate career choice, Rahul stated he would have still been a sportsperson, playing some other sport.

Who has the best beard in the Indian team? Rahul took a few seconds and named Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli. For all his fans, his go-to breakfast is, “4 eggs, Avocados, 1 fruit and Protein shake”. His favorite movie genre is the ones that his father-in-law does very well – Thriller and Action movies.

Asked to choose the actor who can play him in a biopic KL Rahul answered, “I think who could play me really well. I don’t know if that person who want to play me but I think Ranbir Kapoor is a phenomenal actor and he’s done a few biopics which I really enjoyed watching”.

KL Rahul would want to meet Cristiano Ronaldo and Michael Jordan dead or alive!

In came another interesting one as KL Rahul was asked to choose one person he’d like to meet dead or alive. To that he replied, “I have a few actually, Cristiano Ronaldo and Michael Jordan”. Replying to his favorite cheat meal and that 4 AM friend he can rely upon, “My ideal cheat meal would be Biryani and gajar ka halwa with some Ice-cream. And my 4 AM friend would be my wife because she doesn’t sleep early”.

Before going, KL Rahul also had a message to his and Lucknow Super Giants’ fans.

“To the Lucknow fans, this year’s gonna be really special. Playing in front of our home and playing in the Ekana Stadium is gonna be something that I’m looking forward to and its a brilliant stadium it has a capacity of Hundred Thousand I think and I’m sure the people will turn up in big numbers and support their home team. Your support will mean a lot to us so turn up in big numbers and support your Lucknow Super Giants.” – the interview concluded.
