I Need To Give My 100% And Then Enjoy – Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal emphasized the significance of each innings for himself and the team, which serves as his primary motivation to represent his country and give his all on the field.
“In India, when you grow up, you work really hard for each and everything. Even when getting the bus you have to work really hard to get the bus.
“You have to work really hard to get to the train and auto and everything and I have done that since my childhood and I know how important every innings is and that’s why I really work hard in my [practice] sessions and every innings counts for me and for my team that is my biggest motivation to play for my country and I just make sure that whenever I’m there I need to give my 100% and then enjoy,” Jaiswal said.
The 22-year-old batter scored 80 in the first Test before throwing away his wicket. During the Visakhapatnam Test, Jaiswal contributed 209 runs to guide the team to a 106-run victory. The southpaw scored 545 runs across three Tests at a remarkable average of 109.
That Motivated Me A Lot – Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja’s determination and commitment motivated him to perform in the second innings.
“The way Rohit bhai and Jaddu bhai played in the first innings, that motivated me a lot. Because the passion was there, the talk was there, they were really determined to play session by session and when I was inside [the dressing room] I kept thinking that when I go there I have to make it count. The way they were talking about the game, the way they motivated us, I think its incredible to see them putting a lot of effort,” Jaiswal stated.
Jaiswal scored only 10 runs off 10 balls in the first innings, as India faced a challenging situation at 33/3 on the first day. However, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja’s impressive 204-run partnership rescued the team, enabling them to achieve a commanding total.
The opening batter will next be seen in action during the fourth Test against England, scheduled to take place at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi from February 23.
