Yashasvi Jaiswal was out for 37 in the second innings against England in the fourth Test which is being played at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi. He scored a gritty 73 off 117 deliveries in the first innings smashing eight boundaries and a six in his innings.

Jaiswal is having a blast in this series as he has scored at least one 50+ score in all four Tests that have been played in this series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 80 in the first innings of the first Test, 209 in the first innings of the second Test, 214 in the second innings of the third Test and 73 in the first innings of the fourth Test.

He has amassed 655 runs in eight innings in this series at an average of 93.57 smashing two double centuries and two half-centuries. He has equalled Virat Kohli’s record of most runs against England by an Indian in a Test series and there is still a Test left to be played in this series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has smashed three centuries in his Test career as of now and all three were 150+ scores. He scored a century on his Test debut against West Indies in Dominica. He missed the chance to be the second-fastest to reach 1000 runs in Test cricket in the game as he was out on 37 in the second innings.

If he could’ve scored 29 runs more, he would end up with 1000 runs in Tests on his eighth Test match only. Donald Bradman holds the record as he smashed 1000 runs in just his seventh Test.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has equalled Virat Kohli’s record as the Indian superstar scored 655 runs during the 2016 Test series in India. Virat Kohli scored 655 runs in eight innings at an average of 109.17 which included two centuries and two half-centuries. Out of the two centuries, one was a double hundred. Now, Yashasvi Jaiswal has equalled the modern-day legend and has done it tremendously.

Yashasvi Jaiswal needs just 120 runs to break Sunil Gavaskar’s record

Yashasvi Jaiswal has accumulated 655 runs in the series as of now and the fifth Test is still left to be played in Dharamsala. If Jaiswal can score 120 runs more in the fifth Test, he will become the Indian player with the most runs in a single Test series.

Currently, the record is held by Sunil Gavaskar who got 774 runs against West Indies in 1970/71. Yashasvi Jaiswal can create history by surpassing the legendary Sunil Gavaskar in the fifth Test of the series.

India has never lost a Test series at home and has won 16 consecutive Test series at home since the defeat against England in the year 2012 when Alastair Cook led the side to a 2-1 victory against the hosts.

The hosts are hoping to win the fourth Test match in Ranchi and seal the series as they are already 2-1 ahead in the series and a third win will seal the series.
