Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan talked about the competition in the Indian team. He said that he appreciates when someone else gets selected as a game is very tough with all the pressure and expectations around.
Ishan Kishan, who has been part of the Indian side in the white-ball format, became part of the Test set up as well as he was given his debut cap in the first Test against West Indies. He didn’t get desired time as he managed just 1* run in Dominica.
But it didn’t take him long to prove his prowess in the red-ball format as he played staggeringly well in the second game at Port of Spain. Ishan Kishan, who scored 25 runs in the first innings, was promoted to 4 in the second essay in search of some quick runs and he didn’t disappoint.

Ishan Kishan played a magnificent knock of unbeaten 52 runs off just 33 balls on a pitch that was quite slow and put his side in the dominating position. He played some fine shots and his innings included 4 fours and 2 sixes. He brought his half-century with a maximum as well.
Ishan Kishan was how he dealt with the waiting game and whether it was frustrating to be sitting out and dealing with disappointments, replying to which he said that it can be frustrating as well as challenging but he makes every possible effort on his practice and giving his best.
Speaking to reporters, he said: “I think every individual is different. It might be frustrating for some, but someone else can take it as a challenge… that ‘I am not doing enough to get to that level’.
“I appreciate if someone else gets selected in the side and performs because I know how tough this game is, how you are tested mentally, how difficult it is to give that performance when there is so much expectation and pressure.
“So, I make an effort whenever I’m off or not playing that I concentrate on my practice and prepare myself that whenever I get the opportunity, I give my best.”

He explained: “He knows me from U-19 days… how I play, how I think, so we keep interacting. What I think he needs to do to improve I tell him and the same is the case with him. He also tries to help me and ensure I give it my best shot on a tour. And I am very thankful that he gave me some good points at the NCA.”
