Ishan Kishan’s father Pranav Pandey has revealed that his son was dejected after he was snubbed from ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Ishan Kishan recently grabbed the limelight of all when he smacked a double century in the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh.

During IND vs BAN 3rd ODI, Ishan Kishan shattered a double century, smashing 210 runs in the match against Bangladesh. It was his first century in the ODIs and he converted it into a double century. He also helped India to win the match with his stupendous knock.

Ishan Kishan Would Not Sleep After Getting Snubbed From ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Ishan Kishan was part of T20 World Cup 2021. However, he was not picked for the T20 World Cup 2022 this year. In a conversation with The Indian Express, his father Pranav Pandey said he was dejected after getting snubbed for the ICC tournament. He also revealed that Kishan would not sleep at night and walk on the terrace.

“He was dejected, he was tense and I have never seen him like that ever. He is a fun-loving kid but when he was not picked he was sad. At home, he would not sleep, he would walk on the terrace at night, Pranav Pandey said.

Don’t Let This Double Hundred Get Into Your Head: Father’s Advice To Ishan Kishan

Senior Pandey also revealed his conversation with his son after his impeccable knock against Bangladesh. He advised his son not to let this double hundred go into his head.

“When he scores runs, I don’t say much to him because he receives the congratulatory message from everyone. He called me after the match and I told him ‘next match you will again start from zero. Don’t let this double hundred get into your head,” Kishan’s father further said.

Ishan Kishan opened the innings for India in the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh as skipper Rohit Sharma was injured and missed the game. Batting as an opener, Kishan shattered records after smashing a double century in the match.

Taking India to 409-8 with his spectacular batting, the wicketkeeper-batsman also helped the team to grab victory by 227 runs. However, since India already lost the first two ODI games of the three-match series, India lost the series 1-2.
