Ishan Kishan was awarded Player of the Match in the third and final ODI match of the series between KL Rahul-led India National Cricket Team and Litton Das-led Bangladesh National Cricket Team at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday, December 10.
Bangladesh won the toss and invited India to bat first in the match. Batting first, India posted a humongous total of 409/8 in 50 overs with the help of exceptional innings by Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli.

Kishan smashed 210 runs off 131 balls, including 24 fours and 10 sixes, while Virat Kohli smashed 113 runs off 91 balls, including 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Chasing the target, Bangladesh batters failed to get going and the hosts were bundled out for 182. Shakib Al Hasan top-scored for his side with 43 runs under his belt and all the Indian bowlers were among the wickets.
Dominant India won the match by a huge margin of 227 runs and registered their biggest ODI win at an opponent’s home. Also, this was India’s biggest-ever win against a Test-playing nation in ODIs. However, India lost the ODI series by 1-2.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Ishan Kishan, who won his first Player of the Match award in ODI cricket, said that the pitch was the perfect one to bat on and he just went with the flow. He said:
“I think it was a perfect wicket to bat on. Perfect situation for me as well. Was looking to watch the ball properly and go with the flow.”
Ishan Kishan further said that things just went his way in the match. He said:
“I think when you have so many senior players in the team. We have been doing conversations. Here, you try to get a lot when you get a few. I got a lot of help from the support staff. I was just picking the ball and the bowlers. Things went my way. After looking at the wicket, I knew it was going to play well. Was trying to smash the loose balls. There is so much conversation going on in the team for the fitness.”
The 24-year-old surpassed Chris Gayle to become the fastest player in history to smash an ODI double century. Also, Kishan became the 4th Indian batter and overall only 7th batter in history to smash an ODI double century.
