Saba Karim on Rishabh Pant

Saba Karim was seen having an interaction with Sony Sports and was asked about Rishabh Pant. “Only Rishabh Pant can play that sort of knock, considering the situation. I felt England would win that match easily but after that, Rishabh Pant has played only two or three innings in ODI cricket,” said Saba Karim.

“We get extremely confused between formats at times and we take harsh decisions very quickly, which are not in favor of the team or a player. I have the belief that we still need Rishabh Pant in the middle order,” he added.

Conundrum for Management

The rise of Ishan Kishan at the top of the order has meant that the management has some happy head-aches. We all know that Shikhar Dhawan can bat deep and play a significant knock. There is also a question mark over KL Rahul’s batting position as Rishabh Pant is waiting in the wings.

The Men in Blue need to find an ideal combination as chopping and changing won’t work all the time. It would be interesting to see whether the selection panel drops Shikhar Dhawan for the upcoming Sri Lanka ODI Series as we can expect a lot of changes in the squad.
