ENG vs IND: 3 Indian Players Who Deserved A Spot In India Squad vs England. The BCCI announced a 17-member Test squad for the one-off Test against England to be played in Birmingham in July. India is currently leading the five-match series 2-1 and a win at Birmingham will see them win the Test series.

The BCCI has announced a strong squad that saw the return of Cheteshwar Pujara who has scored a mountain of runs in the County Championship in England playing for Sussex. Prasidh Krishna also made a return to the Test squad as the selectors picked him keeping the conditions in mind.

There were a lot of talks about the possibility of Shaw returning to India’s Test squad for the England series. However, that was not to be as the selectors ignored him for the all-important Test match. Shaw’s last Test match was the infamous Adelaide Test against Australia last tear.

Since then he has worked hard on his batting technique and has come back to scoring runs in domestic and IPL cricket. Virender Sehwag has also been very vocal about his return to the Indian Testy squad.

Bhuvi made a return to the Indian T20I side for the series against South Africa. By the looks of it, he is not in BCCI’s plans for a Test return, for which he was again snubbed from the Test squad. He last played a Test match for India in 2018 against South Africa and could have been a good pick in the India squad keeping the swinging conditions of Edgbaston in mind.

With Ravindra Jadeja’s injury status still unclear, BCCI should have picked Kuldeep as a backup spinner for Jadeja. The Indian all-rounder injured himself during the IPL and was ruled out of the season. Jadeja has been a consistent performer for India across formats and his untimely injury has been a matter of concern. BCCI should have easily selected Kuldeep and Bhuvi as backups.
