England batter Jonny Bairstow assured that the team will not stray from their game plan and continue playing attacking cricket or what has come to be known as ‘Bazball’.

The teams scored at well over 4.5 runs per over in the first innings, and despite rain playing spoilsport on all three days, a result is a likelier possibility than a draw.

Additionally, England’s mindset will also be unchanged despite the track withering down, as Bairstow suggested. They recently chased down 250+ totals against New Zealand with utter ease and will hope they can pull off another miracle against India.

Whatever is set is set and we’ll go about it as to whatever set. There’s no point in looking at figures and everything on that. We know that this, we know we’re planning a Test match.

Team India is effectively 257/3 at the end of Day 3.

We know this is going to be day four and day five pitches that we’re going to be playing on. That’s okay. And yeah, we’ll be going about it in the same manner. And I’m looking to take the game forward.”

“It’s been great fun out there” – Jonny Bairstow

Bairstow was the sole fighter on his side, scoring 106 after England was found wanting at 83/5. His knock ensured the lead was kept down to 132 runs, a much lesser figure than what could have been at the halfway stage.

Yeah, pretty pleased. I mean, most of the time it’s pretty good when, well, good or bad when I have to speak to you guys so … recently, it’s, it’s been good. Look, it’s been great fun out there and it’s part and parcel of Test cricket isn’t it? I mean you look at last night,” he said about his knock.

It is also Bairstow’s third century on the bounce, having scored back-to-back hundreds against New Zealand in the 3-match Test series last month.
